The location was beautiful, and though we only stopped for lunch I was impressed with the atmosphere. The service in the whistlestop could have been better, as soon as there was a 3rd table of guests our waiter stopped paying any attention to our table. There were no drink or water refills offered, the food was mediocre for the above average price, and the drinks were very overpriced. We had to flag the server down after we were finished and had waited around twenty minutes. It is unlikely I would stop to eat there again, despite the lovely atmosphere and view. The best!! Hope to return soon! Alaska's best ambassador to visitors. The Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge is a good lodge. The staff is very nice and helpful. My waitress did smell of marijuana and that put me off my meal, which was pricey. The location is beautiful. I could see large mountains through the great room windows which brought a sense of peace. They put on a show when taking down their flags each night. I enjoyed that very much. Nice Princess facility in a Gorgeous and Scenic location. Not good if the weather is Warm. The room Air Conditioners did not work well and were very loud. The beds were not comfortable, although the room was nicely decorated. Memory foam mattress toppers would be a vast improvement. The entire hotel would also greatly benefit from a water filtration system to filter out the yellowish gray water. Lodge is nestled into a beautiful setting with gorgeous mountain view from a rustic-themed lobby. Lodge honors US Vets with the empty table and special "Veteran's Registry" in lobby; as an Army family, we very much appreciate this gesture. Rooms are average but clean. They only include a small coffee maker for coffee/tea and flat screen tv. No microwave, frig or room safe. Arrived early and waited two hours for check in. Enjoyed a late lunch in the adjacent bar and grill while waiting. Parking lot is sparsely populated so don't know if a large group checked out but after our two hour wait, we were assigned a room with a "view" of the parking lot. Not what we hoped for after travelling from Texas for our 43rd wedding anniversary. Guess it's luck of the draw...
