Cozy Alaskan restaurant that definitely does food and service well! We had great meals that were huge and delicious. Reasonable prices, quick service and nice staff. Full bar there as well. One of the few places to eat from the junction to Valdez, and nothing beyond it to Valdez. Delicious, meals, large portions and friendly staff.. Highly recommended. Small town off the highway, perfect place to relax and get away. Rented a room that had it's own private bathroom (some have a communal bathroom). Restaurant/bar has great food and drink selection, and is only a few steps away from the rooms. Plan on visiting the museum which is also part of the Inn & Restaurant. When the staff at any restaurant tells you something just came fresh out of the oven, order it. Doesn't matter what it is. Just get it. A statement like that means, and this is rare, the kitchen staff actually cooks. They use flour and eggs and make things rather than unpackage and assemble, like most restaurants. Such was the case of the morning's cinnamon rolls. Did I want a cinnamon roll that morning? No, not really. Did I order it? Yes. Was it still hot, as big as a plate and slathered in melting homemade cream cheese frosting? Also, yes. Did I also order a full breakfast? Shamefully, yes. Did the breakfast have elk sausage? Yes. Are elks in tube form tasty? Turns out, yes, elks are very tasty. In short: go here and eat everything. Great food! Very friendly staff. The Amigo Burger is absolutely amazing! I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends.
